The video below lets you take a quick guided tour of the Holley Terminator systems that are available from EFI System Pro. Or, scroll further down and find an index of the different Terminator systems and a list of frequently asked questions about these amazing EFI systems. Enjoy!
Holley has rather broadly applied the Terminator title to a broad range of different EFI Systems so our goal here is to try to break this down in a way that makes sense. Let us know how you think we did! For a more detailed explanation of the differences between the systems listed here, read our Terminator FAQ, below.
Holley's decision to classify a broad range of their EFI systems under the Terminator name does invite confusion. We try to offer some answers!
A: The EFI Systems that fall under the name "Terminator" all include either one of Holley's HP or Dominator ECUs. The EFI Systems that fall under the name "Terminator X" include either the Terminator X or Terminator X Max ECU. This PDF will show you the detailed differences between all four ECU's.
A: All of the Terminator X EFI Systems come with the harnesses and connectors intended to run a multi-point fuel injection (MPFI--one injector per cylinder) on a specific engine. You can buy these for GM LS and Truck engines, Ford Coyote, Modular, and other V8 engines, as well as for universal applications.
A: This question is a bit more complex to answer. Terminator LS MPFI is the system that birthed the idea of Terminator X and is essentially a Terminator X system but with the HP or Dominator ECU. (The Dominator ECU is included in those systems that include transmission or drive-by-wire control.)
However, there is more to the Terminator family. Terminator TBI and Terminator Stealth TBI systems are throttle-body injection systems, meaning the fuel injectors are included in the carburetor-looking throttle body that sits on a 4150 carburetor intake manifold. The Terminator Stealth TBI differs from the Terminator TBI in that the throttle body itself offers a "stealthy" looking throttle body that resembles a Holley Double-Pumper Carburetor.
Then, just because they could, Holley offered the Terminator LS TBI, which is a throttle-body based EFI System much like the Terminator TBI but is specifically for LS engines.
A: This is a GREAT choice for someone who is swapping one of these newer engines into an older chassis, or who is upgrading a carbureted engine to MPFI and needs to stay within a budget. You'll give up some features that are available in a EFI System that uses one of the HP or Dominator ECUs but mostly these are features that only appeal to quite high-end users. Again, consult this chart for details.
A: You may have looked in the list above and realized that there are more than one choice that could apply to your situation. Or the sight of so many choices may simply be making your head swim.
