Holley Shows the Jeep CJ Community Some Love
Ok, so there are a ton of aftermarket parts out there for the Jeep CJ--too many to count. But who expected an EFI System this amazing to be released?
Sure, you could (or maybe already have) put a Weber carb on your Jeep. But that doesn't solve the cold start issues or the problems you face on especially steep climbs. Nor do you have to drive around with a box of jets if you are driving in vastly different altitudes.

The Sniper BBD solves all of that. Toss that old carburetor any any adapter plates because this bolts directly in place of the original BBD carburetor on the factory manifold and connects to the factory linkage. Yes, you will install an O2 sensor and Holley makes that easy with a clamp-on O2 sensor bung--no welding required. Screw in a coolant temperature sensor, wire up power, ground, and your ignition and you've done with the EFI system installation.
Think the installation was easy? Then you will really love the configuration! A gorgeous 3.5-inch touchscreen display is included in the kit and lights up when you first key on the system. Select "Wizards" and be prepared to answer some questions so easy you'll feel like a genius. Questions like "How Many Cylinders" and "Engine Displacement". (Hint: If you need some help on that last one it's probably 258.) The Wizard completes the configuration and pre-programs a perfect start-up tune. By starting the engine and driving the tune just gets better with time--without you doing anything other than enjoying yourself.
Fuel System Options
True, that factory mechanical pump is not going to do the trick for your new Sniper EFI system but we've even managed to make that easy. Here are three great options:
- Without a doubt, if you have a 71-86 Jeep CJ with the original or OE-replacement fuel tank then the single best fuel system alternative is this OE Style Fuel Module for Jeep CJ. If you order that then we also recommend this installation component kit so you'll have everything you need on installation day.
- If you have a racing fuel cell with a 6- or 12-bolt flange around the filler neck then one of these Fuel Cell Tank Modules is ideal.
- The Master Kit with inline fuel pump continues to be a cost-effective and universal solution. You can choose that when you add the EFI System to your cart, above.
You absolutely will want a Fuel Pressure Gauge. Those who don't install one with their EFI system are invariably the ones who end up needing it. Don't be that guy.
Ignition System Options
Let us be clear: This Sniper BBD EFI System will work great with your existing ignition system. But if you're crawling the outback miles from anywhere you want an ignition system that will not only get you over the mountain but back to Fort Home with no issues. with Master Kit: Because of the way that Holley created the retail
packaging for their Master Kits it more than doubles the size of the
box. Although the Master Kit itself only adds 4 lbs to the weight of
the shipment, the shipping company charges based on increased size.
