Issues with Holley Terminator EFI and Dual Plane Manifolds

We're Sorry--This Resource Has Been Removed!

The material we published here is under review. We have removed it until an agreement can be reached allowing us to re-publish. If you have specific questions about the use of the Terminator or Sniper EFI systems with a dual plane manifold, please use our phone, email, or online chat options to pose your question and we will be happy to respond.  Bottom line:  Regardless of your intake manifold choice, there is no finer throttle-body injection system available than the Holley EFI Terminator and Sniper.

I too had the same problem using the dual plane intake and terminator. The remedy was to install a quality 1" spacer. I think that a 2" spacer may be in the equation after tuning is complete, but for now I can run the engine above 3000 rpm.

There is no problem with the Terminator--it works fine with many dual-plane manifolds with no air gap. Any problem that exists is with the manifold. I do know that there are many folks who have fixed their intake manifold problem by providing for an air gap. And if that solves the problem then it is worth considering. Thanks for helping confirm this, Eric!

We got tired of waiting for the Sniper after it got pushed back twice. Edelbrock claims they require a dual plane intake for theirs, we really have not gotten a real injection response yet, just better cold starting. AFR's go where the computer wants them, but it still smells fat and uses more fuel than the 750 double pumper did.

That you're running more fuel with EFI than you did with your carburetor is a bit of a surprise. But, theoretically, if the carb was jetted a bit on the lean side then I can see that happening. That it smells fat? Now that tells me that something is awry. I'm not to quick to blame the EFI however (even if it is another brand.) Intake manifolds (particularly wet manifolds) can create puddling, and that would cause exactly what you describe even if you are getting a good AFR number. If this continues to be a problem, consider switching to a different manifold. You stand to gain in both fuel economy and in performance.

Did you get the snipers yet? Personally, I feel the O2 sensor might be back too far and maybe skewing the numbers.

Yes--the Snipers have started arriving! Production is still struggling to keep up with demand so don't delay in ordering. Order now! :-)
